When booking at the Marquette Hotel, guests understand that most rooms are located on the second and third floors. There is no elevator and bellhop. The Marquette Hotel does not have a lobby or front desk. The hotel communicates with guests via SMS (text message) or email (madisonmarquettehotel@gmail.com)
The hotel has the right to remedy any issue that may arise during your stay within 10 hours of being notified. The hotel will have up to 48 hours to remedy any issue that was caused by the current guest.
Guests must use the self-check-in system to enter/exit the hotel and their room. Guests must not share this code with anyone that is not a part of the reservation.
Guests who book must be 18 years or older and present on the property if minors are present. We may ask for an ID to verify your age or identity. No unapproved guests in the room. If this rule is violated you may be asked to leave.
We do not offer on-site parking, but there is free street parking available. All questions for parking before and during your stay must be directed to the city of Madison. Phone number (608) 266-4761 website: https://www.cityofmadison.com/parking-utility
It is not possible to book the entire hotel under one reservation.
The holder of the credit card used for a booking must be present during stay.
It is the guests responsibility to notify us if the credit card on file no longer works for their reservation.
Payments are processed after the booking is made and confirmed. If the credit card on file does not work the booking will be canceled and the guest will be notified via email.
We keep the building quiet in general. If noise (including barking dogs) complaints occur during the day we will ask for you to adjust the noise. Guest will need to end their stay if unable to comply. Amplified sound is not allowed.
No parties or gathering in the rooms. No using illicit or illegal substances on the property. If staff suspects any illegal behavior, staff has the right to enter the room and/or you may be asked to leave.
No congregating or waiting in the stairwell or hallway.

The property has a no-smoking policy and includes the odor of both cigarettes and marijuana. (Vaping counts as smoking!) If violated, you will be assessed up to a $300 fee, resulting in termination from the property.
Burning of incense, essential oils, and candles are not allowed.

We reserve the right to charge guests for damage to or removal of items from the premises and/or unusual cleaning.
The Marquette Hotel has windows that open. Guests that choose to open the windows are responsible for any water damage that may occur as a result of forgetting to close them. Nothing can be hung/passed/tossed/thrown though the windows. Signs and posters are not allowed to be displayed in the windows. The windows that can be opened are only for air flow and not used for anything else.
Guests will be responsible for water damage that occurs from the bath, tub, shower, sink, or damage to fire sprinklers.
Shower curtains must be used inside of the shower.
The Marquette Hotel staff reserves the right to enter the room during a guest occupancy if the windows are left open and a storm occurs.
Damaged or missing items from rooms post check out will be charged to the credit card on file. These include but are not limited to remote controls, linens, pillows, and the physical building.
We also reserve the right to charge guests up to $300 for excessively dirty rooms beyond normal wear and tear.
Do not use the beds to eat or drink.
Do not rearrange/move furniture. A fee will be associated If our staff needs to put the furniture back in its original place. Rearranging furniture is a $15 minimum fee.
Do not use bath towels for removing makeup or cleaning.

If a double booking occurs the Marquette Hotel will refund the entire amount and provide %50 of the booking back to the guest to apply to a different hotel. This would be made payable by check. This check will be mailed out within five business days to the address on file. The Marquette hotel will not pay for transportation.

We have a zero-tolerance harassment policy. Not following rules, debating rules, making personal remarks, or any harassment to any person (i.e. staff, guests, the public) while on the Marquette Hotel property may result in that person being banned and removed from the property.
Guests asked to vacate the property due to harassment or violations of any other rule will be subject to the cancellation policy and will be cancelled without refund.

Quiet hours are between the hours of 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM.
If we receive more than one noise complaint, you may be asked to vacate the premises and will be subject to the cancellation policy, even if the noise is caused by any person, not under that guest's booking.
Mobile / Bluetooth speakers are not to be used on the property.
Please note that all mechanical devices, including the mini fridge and microwave located in hotel rooms, will make a quiet humming noise while on. This is a normal noise for these types of devices while turned on.

The Marquette hotel guests use free street parking. No parking permit is required, and there are no meters. Street signs will have helpful guidelines for parking restrictions.
The Marquette Hotel is not responsible for parking tickets.

The regular check-in time is 3:00 pm. You can check in any time after 3:00 pm. Check-out time is 11:00 am.
Early check-in and late check-out is permitted based on availability if requested and approved in advance.
Early check-in is permitted between 12:00 PM and 2:59 PM if available. Late check-out is no later than 2:00 PM.
Guests whose requests are approved will be charged a $20 fee for early check-in. Guests whose requests are approved will be charged a $25 fee for late check-out.
Up to 10 minutes are free if approved. 11 minutes and beyond, a $15 fee will be assessed. We reserve the right to charge $1 per minute for unapproved check-outs made after the 11:00 AM check-out time.

Housekeeping is available upon request. We offer one free day of housekeeping for every three nights booked. Additional housekeeping requests cost $15.

To approve your pet(s), please write to The Marquette Hotel email address at madisonmarquettehotel@gmail.com informing us you will be bringing your pet(s).
We allow a two-pet maximum occupancy with a $20 fee per stay. Any guest who brings unapproved pets onto the Marquette Hotel property will pay a $50 fine with the additional $20 cleaning fee.
Pets are accepted if they do not create damage or are excessively noisy such as frequent barking, and the pet fee is paid. If excessive dog hair is found on the bed an additional $30 fee will be charged.
We do not accept cats.
If your dog tends to bark while you're away for the day, you will have to take it with you, even if it's before quiet hours.

Hotplates or cooking in the hotel rooms is not permitted. There will be a $200 charge for violating this rule.

Any items left behind by guests will be shipped at the guest's expense. Items left behind and requested to be mailed will incur the ground-shipping U.S. Postage rates and may take up to 30 days to receive. To facilitate the return of your belongings, we ask you purchase a prepaid shipping label and box. Once this is done please email the shipping label. We ask you sign up for alerts to stay informed about the delivery status. We hold on to lost items for one week. We do not hold on to the following items: socks, underwear, food, beverages, or anything left in the recycling or trash.
Cancellation Policy
This Cancellation Policy (the "Policy") outlines the terms and conditions governing the cancellation of reservations at The Marquette Hotel (the "Hotel"). By making a reservation at the Hotel, you (the "Guest") agree to be bound by this Policy.
1. Cancellation, Modifications, Refunds
Guests have 48 hours from the time of booking to make any alterations or cancellations with a full refund.
More than 30 days before check-in: guests are able to receive a 50% refund if they cancel.
30-10 days before check-in: guests are able to receive a 30% refund if they cancel.
Less than 10 days before check-in: no refund will be provided.
Guests are permitted to modify or cancel their reservation with a full refund only within 48 hours of the booking being made. After these 48 hours, the partial refund policy will take effect. If your booking is made less than 48 hours before arrival, you are unable to cancel this after 3 pm check-in time.
A full refund is not issued under any circumstances past 48 hours. This includes, but is not limited to, cancellations due to personal reasons, illness, travel disruptions, weather conditions, any other unforeseen events, noise admitted from mechanical devices, noise from outside the building, noise from neighboring guests and complementary offerings that may change without notice. This also includes any check-in or building maintenance issues guests have during their stay.
The hotel has 30 minutes after being notified via SMS/text message to remedy any door lock code issues and within 8 hours to remedy any building maintenance issue that may arise during your stay. If the internet is not working for the entirety of your stay, we will offer a 10% refund on your booking.
2. Special Events
Special events are non-refundable, regardless of the circumstances leading to the cancellation. This includes, but is not limited to, cancellations due to personal reasons, illness, travel disruptions, weather conditions, any other unforeseen events.
If your booking includes any of the special dates, your booking will be non-refundable. Special events include: Holidays, UW Football Games, UW Basketball Games, UW Graduation, Marathons and Triathlons. If you have questions on specific dates please contact the hotel for clarification.
3. Violation of Policy
Any and all violations of hotel policy will result in immediate cancellation with no refund. After a guest is notified that their reservation has been canceled due to violating the hotel policies, they will have one hour to collect their belongings and leave the property. After an hour, if the guest is still on the property it will be considered trespassing and any leftover items will be handed over to the police department.
4. Booking Confirmation
A reservation is considered confirmed once the Guest receives a booking confirmation via email or any other form of written communication from the Hotel. The 48-hour modification and cancellation period begins from the time the booking confirmation is sent.
5. Payment and Charges
The full amount for the stay will be charged to the Guest's credit card at the time of booking. By making a reservation, the Guest authorizes the Hotel to charge the credit card provided for the total amount of the reservation. This charge is non-refundable except as outlined in Section 1 of this Policy.
6. Guest acknowledgment of disputes
The Guest acknowledges that the terms of this Policy are clear and unambiguous, and waives any right to dispute any amount of the reservation with their credit card company or any other financial institution.
7. Legal Enforcement
This Policy is governed by the laws of Wisconsin, United States and any disputes arising under or in connection with this Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Madison, Wisconsin in the United states.
8. Acceptance of Terms
By making a reservation at the Hotel, the Guest acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to the terms and conditions of this Cancellation Policy. The Guest further acknowledges that this Policy constitutes a legally binding agreement between the Guest and the Hotel.
9. Contact Information
