The Marquette Hotel has deep roots in the Williamson-Marquette community and the history surrounding it. Established in 1857, we are located in one of Madison’s oldest neighborhoods. Our community has always been reflected as a diverse and bold community that values connection. Our neighborhood is known for its continuous bike paths and sidewalks, and its energetic shops and restaurants. We established the Marquette Hotel in 2018 so that our friends, families, travelers, students, and professionals, can take a step into our community and enjoy the essence of the tight-knit community that has been flourishing for over a century. Formerly the home of Children’s House Daycare and its original use as a church, our guests are located at the heart of our neighborhood.

We offer a simplified hotel experience that allows them to truly become a part of our neighborhood without sacrificing the comfort and hospitality that comes from staying in a traditional hotel. We invite you to stay with us and explore our high-spirited neighborhood while creating lasting memories with family and friends. Our home is your home.

We would not be who we are without our beloved Madison community. We pledge to do our part by giving back to our community through donations and volunteer work, practicing being eco-friendly, and striving to always improve the guest experience. 

When you book a room with us, a portion of that booking goes toward donating to reputable and charitable causes such as Dane County Humane Society, MOSES, Project Babies, Saint Vincent Depaul, Dane Buy Local, and over other 15 nonprofits and community centers. The Marquette Hotel commonly and frequently donates cash contributions and hotel vouchers to several community events and businesses to be raffled off in fundraisers and charity events. We believe in giving back to the community that so freely gave us support and a wonderful home to grow our business.

We work nearly exclusively with green, natural, and non-toxic cleaning products for the safety and comfort of both our staff and the guests who visit our hotel. We don’t use single-use plastic bottles that commonly end up in landfills, and have high-energy small fixtures and appliances including our washers, dryers, air conditioning, heating units, and LED lighting.
